Meet Your Instructors

Donavin

Yoga has been in Donavin’s life for over 10 years. As a yoga instructor he aspires to inspire and motivate others to cope with anxiety and find peace. Donavin traveled as a teacher across Long Island before settling down in Calverton to open Evolution Yoga. He has led various wellness retreats and workshop events to increase the awareness and knowledge of yoga. As an instructor he is knowledgeable about chakras, essential oils, crystals and herbal healing. He brings all of his cumulated knowledge to every class to offer full experience. As the owner of Evolution Yoga, he is committed to helping you grow within your practice and create peace within.

Colleen was introduced to yoga over 15 years ago. She is very knowledgeable about kids yoga, prenatal, private yoga sessions and enjoys leading guided meditations. As an active runner, she specializes and understands yoga for athletes. Colleen works very well with beginners offering a flow that is easy to understand. As she patiently guides you through the practice she offers modifications and variations so you can get the most out of the experience. As owner of Evolution Yoga, she looks forward to bringing a mindful practice that everyone can use within their daily lives.

Ashley

The mission of Ashley’s classes is to connect you to the beauty of your soul. In her classes, she likes to create a space of loving intention, inner strength, and empowerment. She welcomes all and believes that every body—no matter its shape, size, or ability—is a yoga body. Ashley is also the creator of an organic skincare line designed to honor our bodies and our planet, as well as the author of several books of poetry and social justice, including a collection of poetry called Yoga Heartsongs.

Barbara understands the importance of the Breath- Body- Mind- Spirit connection. She believes that the release of breath brings us to OUR full expression of each pose, rather than trying to make the pose happen with force of muscle! This is evident in her classes as she moves with grace and poise allowing the body to naturally move. Barbara started “Yoga for the Creative Heart”, a program for Singers, and began to teach it at Vocal Summer Programs. She is also the yoga teacher for the Metropolitan Opera Guild’s Rising Star program.

Janesa

Without realizing when or how, yoga changed Janesa’s life in the most meaningful of ways and lead her to her own life’s purpose – simply, to love and serve. Yoga is the vehicle for that purpose. She endeavors to lovingly guide her fellow yogis through group or private classes that help them feel empowered and that reacquaint them with the best parts of themselves. Through the physical challenge of asana coupled with ancient yogic wisdom, she hopes each practitioner is able find balance, release and the space to see, feel and radiate their own inner light, love and power.
